Reducing single-occupant-vehicle (SOV) trips results in lower CO2 emissions; fosters economic vitality and improves community health, especially when commuters incorporate active modes like walking and cycling.

Position Opening: Program Manager - Closing Sept. 7, 2010

The WTA is seeking a program manager to increase the strength and effectiveness of our services and programs. Your creative, professional and skilled talents are needed to implement and enhance an exciting work plan for 2010-2011 and help develop future programs. You will be the WTA representative to the cities of Tigard and Tualatin promoting the benefits of sustainable transportation and the WTA’s ability to implement successful employer programs and services to reduce drive-alone trips. You will be helping the cities of Tigard and Tualatin fulfill their goals of reducing auto trip rates and assisting employers in meeting DEQ’s Employee Commute Options mandate. While your primary focus is on just two cities, you will be asked to share responsibilities that benefit all cities in Washington County. In addition, you will manage the WTA website and monthly e-newsletters.

Winners - Company Teams

Thank you to all the Companies that registered with the Westside Transportation Alliance! These participation rates are calculated by dividing the number of commuters per company who logged 6 or more trips by the total number of employees at that company. As a courtesy, registered companies with no qualifying participants were omitted. A few of the rankings changed due to the number of paper diaries submitted at the end of the event. Congratulations to everyone!

It's Party Time!

We're bringing back Happy Hour schedule -  5:30 - 7:00. Sounds more exciting than meeting for coffee at the crack of dawn, doesn't it? We hope everyone can make it to one of our 2 Awards Parties; there's one on the Westside and one in Portland. Details in the box below. We will announce all the winners in the next Challenge Update on August 11th. Party highlights will include:
