Washington County Commissioner Dick Schouten praises the future Bikestation coming to Hillsboro
A BikeStation is set to open in Hillsboro (located on SE Baseline Road between 7th and 8th streets) this August 2010. The BikeStation will provide roughly 80 shelter bike racks, hers/his showers and a locker facility. Located near the Max line, this is a great multimodal step forward for the City of Hillsboro.
Washington County Commissioner and WTA Board Member Dick Schouten had this to say about the Bikestation:
"Kudos to Hillsboro, Oregon! As often the case in recent years, Hillsboro blazes trails in this Region. And note that bikes aren't the only part of this story, but are instead part of a multi-prong effort using a variety of transportation modes to solve problems. Rifting off Hillsboro staffer, Colin Cooper's quoted phrase, 'We are Hollard' (and paraphrasing a well used, Dutch soccer chant) --- Hupp, Hillsboro, Hupp! (You go, Hillsboro.)"
